The "Grid Monitoring System" database software is our newest project. At the beginning of 2006 we started developing the GMS software in order to meet and satisfy both the ever-evolving requirements of our diagnostic department as well as the needs of power transmission utilities.

The purpose of the GMS software is to provide a detailed and organised archive of all data pertaining to a transmission system. The software allows a graphical representation of the powerlines to be laid over a digital map. Positional co-ordinates of separate lines and objects, orthophotos, laser scanning data, video takes, IR- and Corona data as well as high quality photos can all be fully integrated in the software.

In the GMS, the positions of all objects and lines are synchronised with the digital map. Separate thermographical, corona and visual reports of elements along a specific corridor can be summarised and viewed on a mouse click. The GMS software also includes 3D functions.

The software provides numerous options to filter separate parameters, which makes it easy to find all locations along a corridor, which have certain characteristics in common, e.g. all points along a transmission line which have a certain corona fault, or all elements with a specific insulation etc.

The GMS software will be released at the end of 2006. Along with the software, customers will receive instruction tutorials for its use, full time support and the option of individual upgrades in the future.
